TV shows and movies and she's here tonight to talk to you LIVE! Send

KRuthrford: Thank you!
ELCTRASmrt: Welcome, Kelly!
KRuthrford: Thank you!
ELCTRALuv: Here comes our first question:
KRuthrford: (laughs!)
Question: Will Megan and Michael get back together on Melrose Place
this season?
KRuthrford: Um ... in a way, we do. We definitely will
continue relating to each other on the show, but Josie Bissett coming
back, The part of Jane will create a complication.
Question: are you starting to tape shows now?
KRuthrford: We start taping July 10th. And we air on July
27th.
Question: Are you planning to stay on Melrose Place and for how long
KRuthrford: The show was picked up for a year so I'll be on for this
season for sure, we don't know about the future.
Question: will there ever be a true "in-love" couple this
season.
KRuthrford: (laughs!) On Melrose Place? There's too much
love going around. (laughs!)
ELCTRALuv: LOL Kelly
ELCTRASmrt: Kelly has quite the sense of humor :D
KRuthrford: Thank you very much! (chuckles)
Question: what was it like working with marcia cross? her character
was wacko
KRuthrford: Yep. Um ... she was really fantastic. And,
her character wasn't quite as crazy when I came on. She was really
delightful to work with and work opposite of as an actress.
Question: Hi,um How did your acting career start?
KRuthrford: I moved to Ny WHEN i WAS 17 to study. And, then
moved back to LA at 20 and started on a soap called
"Generations."
Question: What other roles did you play besides your role on Melrose
Place? Are you planning to get into the movies?
KRuthrford: Very much so into the movies! (laughs!)
Other roles, Brisco County Junior, Homefront, Kindred The Embraced and
others. A lot of television. But, we don't have time to list
them all! (chuckles)
Question: Hi this is Amanda...I think that you are sooo pretty!! I
want to be just like you!!! I just wanted to know what its like to work on
the show?
KRuthrford: Aww... It's a real joy because it's like a family.
Everyone comes in and we really all love being there. It's a fun
show to be on because of these wild characters we get to play, you know.
Question: Do you think your character will marry Coop?
KRuthrford: Um ... stay tuned ... (laughs!) You'll find out
very soon. We air July 27th. We DID get married? Didn't we?
ELCTRASmrt: Ooops - you had to ask? ;)
KRuthrford: I think we ran off and married each other? Stay
tuned ... we air July 27th ... (chuckles)
Question: Is there an address where fans can reach you to request an
autograph?
KRuthrford: Um ... Melrose Place. Not sure of the address.
But, if they get a hold ... either through Spelling or Melrose Place.
I wonder if they have it at the end of the show? Probably contact
Melrose Place or Spelling Productions. That would be the best way.

Question: Are there any practical jokes on the set?
KRuthrford: (laughs!) Thomas Calabro and Jack Wagner are
usually the ones doing a lot of it. They come in with a lot of humor
in the morning (chuckles).
Question: Which cast members are your friends outside of work?
KRuthrford: Um ... Marcia Cross, and I every once in a while see
each other. Lisa Rinna occasionally. But, we work together so
much that most of the time we do our own thing. But, on the set
we're all really pretty close friends.
Question: Hi, Kelly! I really enjoyed you in "Brisco
County" and "The Kindred." Is there any chance of a
"Brisco" reunion show or film? Thanks!
KRuthrford: I wish they would make a movie of Brisco County Jr.!
Get the cast back together, we had such a good time on that show.
But, I haven't heard news of it. Kindred, I think you can buy the
box sets of episodes that we made. So, at least you can get tapes of
it. But, no news of a movie or reunion that I know of. Look
for the tapes in a record store, a friend of mine saw them there.
Question: what is your favorite scene you have done and why?
KRuthrford: (thinks ... chuckles!) That's not an easy
question! On which show? On Melrose Place ... Probably
the scene where I finally tell Marcia the truth ... and sort of finally
become strong with her. Which is early on. And, I love all my
scenes with Thomas!
KRuthrford: Working with him and ....
ELCTRASmrt: Hooo boy!
ELCTRASmrt: You GO, Kelly :D
KRuthrford: That's right! (laughs!)
Question: how is melrose different from your past soap opera
experience?
KRuthrford: It's much more modern. And, it's not quite soap
opera, it has a lot more humor than most soap operas. In my
experience.
ELCTRASmrt: You get to wear hipper clothes, too :)
KRuthrford: Certainly! Thank God!
ELCTRASmrt: LOL
KRuthrford: (chuckles!)
Question: How many hours do you work to film one episode?
KRuthrford: It's an eight day filming. 7 or 8 days filming.
The hours depend on how much we have to do that day. 10 or 12 hours
.. depending on the difficulty of the day if we have stunts.
ELCTRASmrt: Wow - do you do your own stunts?
KRuthrford: If everyone has their lines down (chuckles!) you know!
Question: Are you married?
KRuthrford: No. (she says definitively) Not yet. But,
I'm seeing someone.
ELCTRALuv: Folks, we are chatting with Kelly Rutherford from Melrose
Place :)
Question: Have you taken any drama classes, if so how important are
they to take for an actor/actress?
KRuthrford: I have. I've studied for a long time. I love
it. Not everyone chooses to study. But, I did. Getting
up and doing scenes in the class ... helping you see what you're
capable of, I think.
Question: Kelly, when did you get interested in acting, what are
your other hobbies
KRuthrford: I got interested in acting when I was about 15-16 years
old. Then I moved to NY after high school to study acting.
And, other interests .. just learning, taking classes, or riding horses
... or hikes with my dog, that type of thing. Traveling.
ELCTRASmrt: Anywhere exciting this summer?
KRuthrford: Gotta keep myself interested (chuckles) in different
things.
ELCTRASmrt: We want to travel, too, don't we Luv??
KRuthrford: I did! I just got back from Paris and London which
was great.
ELCTRALuv: Of course.. take us with you :)
ELCTRASmrt: Paris....that's awesome.
KRuthrford: I was there for two weeks and it was really wonderful!

KRuthrford: I was there right ... we sort of left right when the
world cup was starting. So, we watched a lot of it when we were in
London. We had to get out before the crowds got started. It's
a deal (carrying my suitcase) !
ELCTRASmrt: with our presents it it!
Question: was it hard playing a prostitute?
KRuthrford: Hard. Because of the emotional life of this girl
... the way it was written. but, it's great to play a character that
you see grow and change. It certainly wasn't boring. But, you
learn to have compassion for many different types of people. Playing
many different parts, you know.
Question: Where did you grow up and what kind of family life
did you have?
KRuthrford: I grew up mostly in Newport Beach. And, had a very
close family life .. with my mother and brother. My family, you
know. Very loving. We're all so very close (laughs!) I
see them all the time.
ELCTRASmrt: Do you have brothers & sisters?
KRuthrford: Yes. I have one brother. Anthony. He's
younger, five years younger. He loves music and is always inspiring
me to listen to different things. He's very witty and we're very
close, we share a lot.
ELCTRASmrt: You're very lucky :)
ELCTRASmrt: Thank you so much for joining us, Kelly!
KRuthrford: Mm ... thank you! I feel lucky. :) Thank
you!!!
