Brain Thompson was born in Ellensburg, Washington the second of six children, to two school teachers. He was raised in Longview on the Colorado River and was first drawn towards the acting profession during high school when he won the role of Boris, a Russian dance instructor in You Can't Take It With You. He attended the Central Washington University, studying business management and playing football whilst sneaking off to auditions. By his senior year he knew he wished to pursue a career in acting.

Brain won a scholarship to University of California gained a masters degree in fine arts during which time he performed with the Colorado Shakespeare Festival. In 1993 he won a role in the Universal Studio's live Conan The Barbarian show. His career flourished and soon he was accepting numerous roles primarily on stage in musical comedies. 

Nowadays he has become a veteran of cult TV shows such as The X Files, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Star Trek, along with dozens of big action movie roles. Brian has proved himself to be both muscle and brain with his well crafted performances which always stand apart from the crowd.

At home Brian is very much a family man, with his wife Isabelle he has two children, Jordan and Daphne who together have amassed a menagerie in Los Angeles that includes hamsters, goldfish, an African Pigmy hedgehog a squirrel and even a lobster!
