Christopher Thomas Howell was born to mother Candice and father Chris Howell on December 7th 1966 in Van Nuys, California. He and his three younger siblings, brother John and sisters Candy and Stacy, grew up on movie sets watching their stunt man father work. It was a natural progression for the young CT to move into the lime light, and at the tender age of four he won his first role in The Little People.

Even though CT took to acting early, it seemed that he would pursue his first real passion and become a rodeo rider. Between 1978 and 1980 he was honored with the title All-Around Cowboy, by the California Junior Rodeo Association. These skills saw him step in front of the camera as a stunt double for young actors.

When he was 13 destiny kicked in and CT won the role of Tyler in E.T. though not a large role, it was soon to lead to greater things. The movie that began the careers of a generation of actors was only two years away, and at 15 CT was cast in the lead of Francis Ford Coppola's classic The Outsiders. Working alongside newcomers Matt Dillon, Emilio Eztevez, Rob Lowe, Tom Cruise and Patrick Swayze, amongst others, CT gave what is still today one of his finest performances as Ponyboy, the youngest brother of the Curtis family, who becomes embroiled in a gang war. The film made stars of all it's young cast, and gave CT the freedom he needed to move away from home, as he no longer got along with his family.

On screen CT had a clean cut, all American image, but off screen he and friends Charlie Sheen and the Beastie Boys made waves of a different kind. By his early twenties he had married Rae Dawn Chong and seemed to have settled into the life of a fully fledged leading man. His movies came strong and fast, with Soul Man, A Tiger's Tale and The Hitcher securing him a place in the annuls of Brat Pack history. CT never really managed to recapture his early success, as many of his generation found. Unlike most of his contemporaries though, this was one actor determined to continue in his chosen profession. He has worked solidly, making countless movies and even turning his hand to writing and directing. He also own his own production company, Buckwheat Films, so seems set to continue in the business for many years to come.

Now remarried to Sylvie and with  three children, CT lives in Los Angeles, California. When not working he enjoys golf, surfing and football, and computers, along with the rodeo that he has loved all his life.
